Pirtle Design's website says: "Symbol for the newly formed Brooklyn Ballet Company. The solution draws inspiration from choreography 'mapping'."

Very elegant yet modern. The fluidness of ballet is suggested clearly in this simple mark. The "B" letterform is the basis for the flowing and looping line...leveraging the double "B" in the organizations name. The strong vertical line running through the middle of the filled circle shape provides structure, as the more free-flowing lines carry out their movements—or "dance"—around it. Nice choice of line weight to maintain the smooth, graceful appearance. Making the line weight too bold could have resulted in a more "corporate" image. Great positive and negative space is used for a very balanced appearance, even though the left and right sides are asymmetrical (which is nice).
